2023 DUNEDIN SPEAKERS
Filipo Levi is a former International Rugby Captain for Manu Samoa and played professionally from 2000
until 2012. Filipo is the author of ‘ Tackle Your Success’, A step-by-step guide to life after sports, a Keynote
Speaker and a business coach.
Filipo attended Dunedin North Intermediate and Logan Park High School before joining Otago
Boys High School. He played for his local Dunedin club Alhambra Union from 1991-92, 1999 -2007,
Otago Rugby from 2000-2006, the Highlanders from 2002-2007 and the Tasman Makos from 2011-2012.
In 2002 Filipo was a Standby All Black and then represented the first inaugural Pacific Islands Rugby Team
in 2004 and 2008, then Manu Samoa from 2007-2011.
Filipo is passionate about helping and collaborating with business leaders and working to help professionals
develop their people’s skills and empower their learning through his keynote speaking, coaching and
training. Filipo graduated from The University of Otago with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree, majoring in Pacific
Islands and Indigenous Studies.
In 2011, Filipo was bestowed with the Samoan chief Tulafale-Orator-speaking title of Mulitalo from the
village of Lano in Savai'i, Samoa. He hails from the villages of Safotu, Faleapuna, Poutasi and Faleasiu.

She is the CEO of The Cause Collective which is a Pacific social change and primary health organisation.
